Denetiah Lake Lodge is the definition of luxury wilderness lodges in BC.
An exclusive retreat nestled deep within the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area in northern British Columbia. Our seclusion is our signature; accessible only by floatplane, the lodge promises an experience in a truly pristine, untouched landscape.
The Muskwa-Kechika Management Area (M-KMA) spans 15.8 million acres of protected wilderness. Within this majestic expanse, Scoop Lake Outfitters manages a 2.5 million-acre guide area, where Denetiah Lake offers its rich biodiversity and abundant wildlife. The name "Denetiah" itself is a gift from the Kaska people, meaning "good people," honouring the spirit of the region.
When the area officially became a park in 1999, Scoop Lake Outfitters was granted authority by BC Parks to upgrade the original footprint. The construction of the current lodge, beginning in 2019, was a monumental task. With the nearest town 120 miles away, a sawmill was flown in to mill dead standing trees from around the lake, producing 26,000 board feet of timber. The centerpiece of the main lodge, a 30-foot stone fireplace, was built by hand, with each rock personally selected from the lakeshore and transported to the site. This effort was driven by a vision: to create an authentic wilderness lodge in BC that felt born of the landscape itself.

The result of this vision is a main building and three exquisite sleeping cabins, comfortably accommodating 4-5 couples. These are not just structures; they are some of the most thoughtfully designed and remote fishing cabins in Canada, offering a luxurious five-star experience with a minimal environmental footprint.
This profound respect for the surrounding habitat extends to the lake itself. Denetiah Lake and its connecting waterways provide over 10 miles of pristine rainbow trout habitat.
